Timeless Collections: Why We Quit Dating Our Collections with Years and Seasons.

Spring/Summer.

Fall/Winter.

New year, new drop.

The fashion industry has a way of making you feel like you’re always one season behind, always chasing something newer, always needing to refresh. For a long time, even building this brand, I felt that pressure. The pressure to date everything. To timestamp every collection like it had an expiration date stamped on the tag.

Then I stopped and asked myself: is that actually what we’re about?

Growing up in New York City, fashion was never a calendar to me; It was a conversation. Every borough had its own dialect. What you wore told people who you were, where you came from, and where you were headed without you saying a single word. Nobody on my block was thinking about what season their fit was from. They were thinking about how it made them feel when they stepped outside.

That’s the energy Shalise and I tried to pour into The Supermarket Co. from day one. That’s why our collections have names, not numbers nor years.

The Modern Man.

Back To The Essence.

Delivered To Her Doorstep.

Smile, America.

Out The Trunk.

The Powder Room.

Each one is a chapter in something bigger. A story, not a schedule. When you’re wearing a piece from any of these collections two years from now, I don’t want you to feel like you’re behind. I want you to feel like you made a solid decision.

Here’s what I know to be true: quality doesn’t expire. Identity doesn’t expire. The people who shop with us aren’t trend chasers, they’re intentional. They’re building something in their wardrobe the same way we’re building something with this brand. Piece by piece, with purpose. We’re not rushing to fill a seasonal quota. We’re being deliberate about what we put out and standing behind it completely.

The Supermarket Co. got its name from the most human place I could think of; somewhere everyone belongs, where regular people move through life doing regular things. No velvet rope. No expiration date on who’s welcome. That same spirit is in everything we make.

So when you see a collection from us without a year attached to it, that’s not an oversight. That’s the whole philosophy. We’re not giving you something to wear this season. We’re giving you something to wear, period.

Wear it now. Style it your way. Pass it down one day.

That’s the uniform.
